Staying at the Marriott Stellaris Hotel & Casino in Aruba

Aruba is a place that I first visited to celebrate my 21st birthday with my mom and sister and ever since it has held a special place in our hearts.  With it’s warm crystal-clear water (a requirement for me to get into the ocean) to the delicious variety of food this beautiful island offers something for everyone.

My first visit to this gorgeous island would not have been the same if I had not been staying at the Marriott Stellaris Hotel and Casino! This hotel is located on Palm Beach and, while all beaches in Aruba are public, the hotel does an amazing job of making each guest feel like they are at their own personal private beach.

Room

Our room was facing the Caribbean sea and provided the most stunning views (see the above photo for evidence) with a gorgeous front row seat to an amazing sunset each night.  Our room was a large space and had two large queen size mattresses, a few indoor seating options, and comfy chairs on the balcony to look out onto the sea.  This room was a perfect place to relax after spending a long day enjoying the sun and sand.

Dining

Like most people I love sampling traditional foods of whatever country I’m in but for those nights when it was easier to stay in than adventure out the hotel had some fantastic places to choose from.  We were only able to sample two of the restaurants on site but both were delicious!

La Vista: Our first night at the hotel we were able to eat at La Vista the buffet style restaurant. I still have dreams about the shrimp risotto I had here!  There was more food than my stomach could fit and such an amazing variety of food was available so even the pickiest eater will be able to find something delicious.

Atardi: This pop-up style beach restaurant (pictured below) is definitely more romantic and grown up than it is a dinner to bring the kids.  It was fun to kick off our shoes before being escorted to our table where we were able to choose some delicious foods off a select menu and enjoy the sunset over the water as we ate.  Definitely reserve a table early to get a good time!

Activities & Excursions

The Marriott Stellaris Hotel and Casino did an incredible job of providing both relaxing and adventurous activities, meaning there is something for everyone.

Beach: The beach is only steps away and is home to crystal clear water, comfy beach loungers, and snorkeling equipment for rent.  While all the beaches in Aruba are public the beach was never over crowded or loud.

Pool: While I was more a fan of the beach and ocean my mom was glued to one of the two pools on the grounds.  Her favorite was the main pool that featured a small waterfall (that was usually home to an iguana or two) and an amazing swim up bar.  The pool was always full people ready to chat but if we were looking for something quieter and more relaxing there was also an adults only pool just far enough away from the main area.

Excursions: I have to thank the customer service desk for their amazing service and ability to schedule fun outings at the last minute.  We did no real pre-planning before arriving but were able to go on an amazing catamaran snorkeling tour (and see a super creepy underwater shipwreck) and get a guided tour of the island both of which were fantastic and I would do again in a heartbeat!

Extras:  The hotel was great about having nighttime activities for those who didn’t want to go out.  There was karaoke by the indoor bar, dance shows during certain dinners, and happy hour that seemed to last the whole day.
